AccountRight software updates are regularly provided to help you better manage your business and to ensure that your business complies with current government legislation.

You should update your software regularly, especially if you work online. You can read about the new features in the AccountRight blog.

Do you need to upgrade your company file? If you're updating from AccountRight 2011 or later, you don't need to upgrade your company file. If you're upgrading from an older version of AccountRight (such as v19), you'll need to upgrade your company file.

Automatic software updates

When you open your company file, AccountRight will check for any updates you're entitled to. If an update is available, you will be prompted to download and install it. If you choose to update at a later time, you'll see a reminder to install the update below AccountRight's menu bar.

Downloading software updates from the MYOB website

You can also download software updates from the MYOB website or from the my.MYOB website. You'll need a current AccountRight subscription. You'll also need to enter your serial number or my.MYOB account email address to get your update.

Download your software from the link provided on the website and then locate and double-click the downloaded file. You’ll then be guided through the installation.

Installing a compliance update (AU)? Make sure you update your PAYG tax tables before recording your first pays of the new payroll year.

Updating AccountRight on multiple computers

If you work on a company file on more than one computer (e.g. at home and at the office), ensure you install the AccountRight updates on each computer before upgrading your company file, as illustrated below.
